Boys Will Always Be Boys
"I was that kid who was always around the boys," writes Carlos. In 2023 he went back to those years with "Boys Will Always Be Boys": the barbershop on weekend afternoons, the long walk home after school, boxing, football, and the ships in which they saw their dreams.
He calls the series "a requiem of my childhood friendships and that of many people who grew up in communal environments." Today's slides draw on the texts he wrote about each photograph.
Tomorrow: "Hero, Father, Friend", 2024, the series about the father he lost at eighteen.
