Sunday Special, Part II
Yesterday we followed a Sunday in church. Today, the second part of "Sunday Special" (2022): the family. A couple on the sofa, tea at the table, the living room, getting dressed, twins, and the family photograph, everyone in their Sunday clothes.
Once again, the texts in the slides come from the essays by Bill Shapiro and Nathalie Herschdorfer in the Collectors Journal we published for Carlos's first Paris Photo, and from Nana Oforiatta Ayim's text in Aperture's "Accra" issue. Herschdorfer's essay, including her quotation from Umberto Eco, is in French; the translations are ours.
"Daddy's Polaroid" was also lent to Arles this year, for the exhibition "Ghana! Dreaming Independence 1957–1976".
