Paris Photo 2025
In 2024, we made our debut at Paris Photo with a solo exhibition of Spanish photographer Ramón Masats. One of the great figures of Spanish photography, he had made his most influential work in the 1950s and 1960s, yet remained little known internationally.
A year later, we returned with a very different proposition: a solo exhibition of Carlos Idun-Tawiah, a photographer of just twenty-eight. We had only begun working together that April. Seven months later, his photographs filled our stand at the Grand Palais in "I'll Be Here to Remind You".
Two very different artists, at very different points in their careers. For us, each solo exhibition was a way of giving their work the attention we believed it deserved.
On the walls were "Sunday Special", "Boys Will Always Be Boys" and "Hero, Father, Friend": memories of family, faith and childhood in Ghana, made into scenes where lived experience and imagination meet.
Alta is also our home in Anyós. We live with the photographs we show, and wanted to bring that intimacy to Paris: a place to sit, look and imagine these pictures in your own life. We worked with Milanese gallerist Rossella Colombari to bring three pieces of Italian furniture into that setting.
Alongside the exhibition, we published "I'll Be Here to Remind You", a sixteen-page Collectors Journal, with essays by Nathalie Herschdorfer, director of Photo Elysée in Lausanne, and Bill Shapiro, former editor-in-chief of LIFE. Their different readings give us two more ways into Carlos's work.
Tomorrow: the response in the press, and "Hero, Father, Friend", published by Marsilio Arte.
Installation views: "I'll Be Here to Remind You", Paris Photo 2025, Grand Palais, booth C07, 12–16 November 2025.
