Carlos Idun-Tawiah has won the Deloitte Photo Grant 2025 in the Commendations category. The prize is promoted by Deloitte Italia under the patronage of Fondazione Deloitte, with Denis Curti as artistic director.
The winning series is Hero, Father, Friend, made after the death of his father when Carlos was eighteen. It moves between presence and absence, memory and imagination, and draws on intimate family moments and on his relationship with his parents, so that personal and collective memory become one.
Francesca Malgara, artistic director of MIA Photo Fair, who nominated him, praised his way of showing a positive Africa, one of community, hope and memory, through delicate and poetic images.
The winning works are on view at Triennale Milano from 27 November 2025 to 25 January 2026.
